- Educational Apps are growing in numbers and popularity. They can be a great tool for engaging the students as an add-on to a lesson, but as the article states, many do not conform to educational standards and they do not allow for teacher supervision or assessment. As technology becomes a more integral part of classrooms, new standards and guidelines need to be developed to insure the technology is educational and meets the needs of both teachers and students.

I believe Apps in the classroom
can be beneficial if they are properly researched. Technology is evolving at a very rapid pace
and as educators we need to keep up to date on all that it offers. There are many Apps that claim to be
educational, but fall short. As the
article points out, educators and App developers need to collaborate together
to produce Apps that are engaging to students and educational.

ReplyDeleteI think that it is amazing everything that has been thought of that is easily accessible to anyone who wants it. It think that it is really cool that they have apps like this to teach people other languages. I believe it opens the diversity of the world to anyone who wants it.

ReplyDeleteI think that the incorporation of an app such as this one into a lesson is an amazing idea. This app enables students to enjoy learning and to try to complete every challenge that the game presents. I was never a fan of taking Spanish class as a child, but I feel that I would have if an app like this was used in my learning.

Being bilingual is a good skill to have as an educator and I love what you posted about these apps. I couldn't agree more with that fact there needs to be collaboration between educators and producers. Thank you for all the information!
